First, you need to consider your travel mates, will the trip be made alone, with a partner, with a group or with your family. Next consider whether you prefer to do all the research and make reservations by yourself. Alternatively, you may prefer to hand the entire job over to either a family member, your partner, someone in the group or a travel agent. You will need to consider these factors and make a firm decision on your course of action.
Personal trips mean budget considerations; will you and your partner stay at a Bed and Breakfast and stroll down to the local golf course to play or will you choose a golf resort vacation? Resorts do not come cheap but with some time and effort invested in research you can find some really good deals from the smaller, not so famous resorts. Usually if the golf course is absolutely super, you will have problems with rooms or food; you have to decide what is really important to you when choosing your golf resort vacation. Remember the song Anticipation by Carly Simon? I heard it the other day on satellite radio on the Music from the 70’s station and it got me thinking about the power of anticipation! Think about it yourself. What do you eagerly anticipate? Is it that special dinner, the Saturday round of golf, the weekend getaway trip, or the day off just to relax? Well, regardless of what it is, it is looked forward to and keeps you going! So ask yourself this. Are you creating Anticipation in your club or resort offerings? Are you keeping it fresh and regularly trying new things? Do you brainstorm with your staff for new ideas? Are you willing to step out of the box? Are your events really special or just called special because that’s what you have always called them. Read the rest of this entry »

Planning the perfect golf vacation can be difficult, especially if your spouse isn’t interested in golf. What is the solution? Apart from leaving the non-golfer at home, the best solution is to book a golf spa resort.
There are many options available; if either of you like tennis, there are many tennis and golf resorts that cater to the golf and tennis fan. If you like lazing on beaches, and who doesn’t, you could go to a golf and beach resort.
The best option, for the female non-golfer is a golf spa resort. While you are out enjoying a round of golf, she can be getting pampered at the spa. Of course, after a long day playing golf, it is also nice to come back to the hotel and have a nice soothing massage.
