Staying closer to home to experience your golf vacations is becoming more and more the norm these days. Your golfing adventure to the Maritimes will leave you with money in your pocket, and yearning to come back and visit us year after year.

The Maritimes, ( Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick), offers some of the best, if not THE best, golf vacations in Canada and the East Coast. Your options are limitless and a lot more economical then going South for a round or two!

The Maritimes offers everything from Championship level courses to beginner level courses. You can also find traditional links courses, by the Atlantic Ocean, as well as your normal courses that are typically found today. All of the courses in the Maritimes comes complete with some spectacular scenery for your viewing pleasure.

The advantage goes to my American friends to the South. With the current exchange rate, between Canada and the United States, you can spend a week in the Maritimes far cheaper then you could spend a week in the United States.

It’s 18.5 hours to drive to Prince Edward Island from Washington. That’s approximately two days worth of driving (one way). That should give you three days of golf and then another two days to drive back to Washington.

For those of you who live closer to Canada than Washington, then the less driving you will have to do which leaves more time for golf!

If you wish to fly, then it will take approximately 4 hours of flying (from Washington) with a connection in Boston. During the summer months Delta Airlines has a direct flight to Charlottetown, PEI from Boston. It has been a great success for Delta for the last few years. Delta Airlines also flies direct to Halifax, Nova Scotia from Washington, New York or Boston. Continental Airlines flies direct to Halifax from New Jersey. United Airlines, American Airlines and Air Canada flies direct to Halifax from New York.

If you are one of the fortunate ones who owns your own airplane, then there are many airports you can fly into, jump into a rental car, and be teeing off in no time at all. There are many ways of traveling to the Maritimes, now go and do it!

With the exchange rate you will find some great bargains on hotels, car rentals, and green fees.

The hospitality in the Maritimes will leave you wanting to come back year after year. I have travelled all over the world and I can honestly say, you will not find a more politer, friendlier group of people than what you’ll find in the Maritimes. The folks here would be willing to give you the shirt off of their back if they had to.

Sample the local cuisine and you’ll then march straight to the local real estate agent to buy a summer cottage. The food in the Maritimes is unique and to die for. It’s a blend of French and English cuisine as well as “beaucoup de” seafood. Because the Maritimes borders the Atlantic Ocean, seafood is one of the primary staples here. If seafood is not your cup of tea then don’t fret because we also like our meat as well (beef, pork, lamb, chicken etc) Put them both together for a Surf & Turf, on a patio overlooking the ocean, and you just capped off the perfect day.

If I’ve piqued your interests then please visit East Coast Golf Vacations. You’ll find great information on food and lodging options (resort, hotel/motel, campgrounds, and Bed and Breakfasts); help with traveling instructions; information on things to see and do away from the golf course; local weather conditions; car rental locations; international and local airports that serve the Maritimes; and you’ll be provided with on going information from your favorite golf destinations for all of the Maritime provinces.

I hope you will take the time to bookmark this website and use it on an ongoing basis when you are looking for new golf vacations.
